Job Description

We are a manufacturing company in Wheeling, IL looking for a CNC Lathe Set-up/Operator for 1st shift, 6am to 2:30pm.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Consistently performs a thorough and accurate job of setting up, adjusting, checking programming, and operating Computer Numerical Control (CNC) machine tools with a minimum of errors. Displays precision and skill in executing a complex series of progressive machining operations to close and exacting tolerances and finishing specifications. Working to 0.0004" in some cases. Inspects work against shop prints using a variety of precision gauges and measuring instruments in a careful and systematic manner. Exhibits a high degree of skill and a broad knowledge of machining techniques. Can accurately read and interpret work orders, shop drawings, sketches, blueprints, and related technical data to determine tooling requirements for each operation. Exhibits consistent productivity while adhering to
ISO 9000
quality standards. Performs other related duties as assigned by supervisor
ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS
Requires a high school diploma or equivalent plus trade school training, and a minimum of 5 years related experience. Must be able to read blue-prints, operate precision measuring instruments and operate FANUC controls. Requires the ability to interpret a variety of technical instructions furnished in written, oral, diagrammatic or schedule form. Must be able to apply practical shop math involving fractions, ratios, and proportions, geometric construction, and essentials of trigonometry.
