CNC Mill Operator

Job Summary We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented CNC Mill Operator to join our dynamic manufacturing team. In this role, you will operate and program CNC milling machines to produce precision components that meet strict quality standards. Your expertise in CNC programming, blueprint reading, and mechanical knowledge will be essential in ensuring efficient production processes. Responsibilities Set up and operate CNC milling machines, including Fanuc-controlled equipment, to produce complex parts according to detailed blueprints and technical drawings. Program CNC machines using CAM (Computer-Aided Manufacturing) software and modify existing programs as needed to optimize machining processes. Interpret GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) specifications to ensure parts meet precise dimensional requirements. Conduct precision measurements using calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, coordinate measuring machines (CMM), and other precision instruments to verify part accuracy. Perform routine machine maintenance, tool changes, and troubleshooting to maintain optimal machine performance. Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and schematics for manufacturing components with tight tolerances. Utilize hand tools, power tools, tooling setups, and welding equipment when necessary for assembly or adjustments. Follow lean manufacturing principles to improve efficiency, reduce waste, and enhance quality throughout the production process. Maintain accurate documentation of work orders, inspection reports, and machine logs for quality control purposes. Qualifications Proven experience operating CNC milling machines and CNC lathes in a manufacturing environment. Strong knowledge of CNC programming languages such as G-code and M-code; experience with CAM software is highly desirable. Familiarity with blueprint reading, GD&T standards, and mechanical drawings. Ability to use precision measuring instruments including calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, and coordinate measuring machines (CMM). Basic math skills necessary for calculating dimensions and tolerances accurately. Mechanical aptitude with knowledge of tooling setup, electrical discharge machining (EDM), plastics injection molding processes, welding techniques, and power tools. Experience working with Fanuc controls or similar CNC control systems preferred. Knowledge of lean manufacturing practices to promote continuous improvement. Ability to work safely with hand tools, power tools, forklifts (certification preferred), and other manufacturing equipment. Strong attention to detail with excellent problem-solving skills; ability to troubleshoot machine issues efficiently.
