•_ We are a Northwest Indianapolis Manufacturing company looking for an experienced CNC Machinist to fill an opening in our growing Machining department. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Set-up and manage CNC machines to perform different jobs including drilling, grinding and milling Translate engineering drawings and requirements into dimensions for production Ensure CNC machine is operating properly to produce parts to specification guidelines Oversee machine and make changes to produce improved results Continually quality check parts produced by machine by comparing them to the job specifications Use Calipers and Micrometers to verify part quality Communicate with supervisor when parts produced are not meeting specifications of drawings Check machinery on a daily basis to guarantee it is functioning properly Complete production and quality logs for all jobs Cut bar to specifications for upcoming jobs and to prepare machines for night run jobs Log in and out of jobs for time tracking
JOB REQUIREMENTS/SKILLS
Excellent attention to detail Translate mechanical documents/drawings to produce parts meeting specifications Good computer and mathematical skills Use Micrometers and Calipers Ability to identify inconsistencies in parts as compared to drawings Ability to detect mechanical problems with machine operation Translate data from machine to production and quality logs
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
3-5 years of experience with CNC machines Experience with Haas operating systems Prior experience on dual spindle lathes Prior experience set up/programming using G&M code a plus Prior experience translating mechanical and engineering drawings to produce quality parts Ability to use Calipers and Micrometer Quality control experience a plus
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORK ENVIRONMENT
Ability to lift 20-50 lbs. frequently Team lift up to 75 lbs. occasionally Ability to work in non-air conditioned manufacturing environment Standing 50% Sitting 50% Occasional bending and stooping Clean work environment Exposure to noise, dust, and airborne particles Tools provided Safety training and other required PPE provided
