Job Description

Operates CNC tube bending equipment to form tubing components to precise specifications. Ensures quality, accuracy, and efficiency while maintaining a safe and organized work area. These parts are to meet or exceed established quality and productivity standards. Organizational Relationships and Authority The CNC Operator reports directly to the Production Supervisor. There are no direct reports to this position. However, machine performance is the responsibility of the operator and any conditions that lower the expected output of the machine must be communicated to the shift supervisor. Key Responsibilities and Purpose The primary responsibility of the CNC Operator is to produce metal fabricated parts to customer print specifications using a standard process.

Additional tasks include: Set up, program, and operate CNC tube benders to meet print requirements. Install mandrels, dies, and related tooling according to setup sheets. Inspect parts using calipers, gauges, and laser CMM equipment. Diagnose and correct tube deformation and dimensional issues. Read and interpret tube-specific drawings and job sheets. Maintain tooling, equipment, and work area cleanliness. Report non-conformances and contribute to process improvements. Using inspection devices (calipers, pin gauges, check fixtures) to inspect parts, according to print and product inspection plan (PIP) Qualifications and Competencies To perform this job successfully, an individual must display the ability to read a blueprint and calculate positive and negative adjustments to produce parts to print specifications. They must possess basic computer skills including: Navigating ERP software Education High school diploma or equivalent required. Experience Press Brake or Bender operational experience is preferred 6+ months of manufacturing experience; CNC bending preferred Ability to read blueprints and understand LRA/XYZ data. Proficiency with inspection instruments and ERP systems.
