About the Job Machine operators are responsible for performing basic pre-use checks on machines, setting up machines for production and checking the output to ensure product meets specification before being passed to the next operation. Key Duties and Responsibilities Verify calibration of measuring tools (tape measures, calipers, scales). Check and service fluid levels before machine startup. Stock and replenish oils, tools, and supplies needed for machine operation. Review paperwork to ensure product conformity. Prepare and properly position raw materials for machining. Safely operate machines and monitor production for quality standards. Safely operate 3-axis CNC machines in accordance with company and OSHA safety standards Perform cleaning and preventative maintenance on machines and work areas. Report equipment repair needs to the production coordinator. Adjust machine settings to maintain product quality. Measure and document product dimensions to confirm specifications. Sign off on completed operations and document scrap as needed. Organize and stage finished items for the next operation. Clear equipment jams safely and efficiently. Maintain raw material and supply inventories. Perform other duties as assigned. Skills and Abilities Strong active listening and communication skills. Team-oriented with the ability to work independently. Skilled in operating and controlling machinery. Able to perform quality inspections and identify machining defects. Solid mathematical and mechanical aptitude. Able to read and follow instructions accurately. Self‑motivated, proactive, and effective in a fast‑paced environment. Proficient with measuring tools (calipers, tape measure). Detail‑oriented with strong problem‑solving abilities. Capable of bending, lifting, and carrying up to 50 lbs., and pushing/pulling loaded pallets. Basic computer skills. Qualifications Previous experience operating CNC equipment (3-axis preferred) Strong understanding of machine processes, tooling, and materials Basic troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
