This role anchors Safety, Quality, Cost, Delivery, and People, ensuring alignment to company targets through disciplined processes and clear communication. Core Responsibilities Partner with engineering on prototypes, production runs, and new product launches. Author, edit, and optimize G‑code/M‑code programs; validate using CMM feedback.
Own tooling:
inventory control, spare tooling setup, and availability. Maintain spare parts inventories for all CNC assets. Ensure PM is executed; troubleshoot and resolve maintenance issues. Identify and correct production, prototype, and launch issues. Measure coolant concentration daily; adjust to spec. Improve OEE by reducing cycle time and downtime. Confirm all customer minimum process requirements are capable and active across machines. Assist operators with daily tasks; perform CNC/assembly operations when needed. Train operators on correct loading, operation, and process adherence. Complete other duties as assigned. Compliance & Continuous Improvement Adhere to the Quality Management System, Environmental Management System, Safety practices, and Management Operating System documents. Observe company rules and practices per the Employee Handbook. Maintain 5S standards and a clean, organized work area.
Engage in Lean initiatives:
Kaizen, Kanban, OEE, SMED, and Six Sigma.
Hit cost objectives:
production rate attainment, scrap reduction, customer conformance, tooling maintenance, and on‑time delivery. Promote teamwork; model safe behaviors and report hazards via proper channels. Maintain acceptable attendance. Qualifications High School diploma or GED. At least 2 years of CNC programming experience.
Skills:
GD&T, equipment troubleshooting, CNC tooling, CNC programming, CNC machine repair, CNC machine installation, G‑code/M‑code, and production run setups. Equipment Experience 3-4 axis VMCs (Fanuc, Mazak, Doosan, Makino, Brother, DMG Mori Seiki). 2-4 axis CNC lathes. Physical Demands Ability to stand for up to 10 hours; twist, turn, and bend to floor level. Exert 20-50 lbs occasionally; 10-20 lbs to load product. Lift 30-45 lbs occasionally.
