This role is responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining CNC machining equipment used to manufacture and repair injection mold tooling and components. The ideal candidate will have experience working in a manufacturing environment and a strong understanding of machining processes, quality standards, and safety procedures.
Hours:
Monday-Friday 6:45am-3:15pm
Key Responsibilities:
Set up and operate CNC machines to cut, shape, and drill metal, plastic, and composite materials Manufacture mold tooling and components using CAD drawings and engineering specifications Load machining programs into CNC equipment using computers and/or USB devices Modify and edit machining programs as needed to improve production efficiency Perform insert changes, cutting tool changes, and machine adjustments during operation Conduct in-process inspections using measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, bore gages, indicators, gage blocks, and gage pins Verify parts meet quality and dimensional specifications Perform routine machine maintenance and troubleshoot machining issues as needed Complete emergency repairs of tooling to support production demands Assist with fabrication or modification of components for other departments when required Cross-train and support multiple work centers or machining operations as needed Operate material handling equipment including cranes, hoists, and forklifts when necessary Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment Follow all company safety policies and procedures and wear required PPE at all times Communicate quality or safety concerns immediately and stop production when necessary Perform other duties as assigned
Required Qualifications:
Minimum 1 year of experience operating CNC machines or programmable metal-cutting equipment in a manufacturing environment Experience working with mold tooling or injection molding environments preferred Basic knowledge of CAM software and CNC programming Ability to read and interpret shop drawings, blueprints, and written work instructions Experience using precision measuring equipment including calipers, micrometers, indicators, and bore gages Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship Mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting ability Ability to work overtime as needed to support production schedules Strong teamwork and communication skills Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and perform physical tasks including bending, twisting, reaching, climbing, and standing for extended periods
Work Environment:
Manufacturing and tooling environment supporting injection molding operations Exposure to machinery, moderate noise, temperature changes, chemicals, and solvents Regular use of PPE and adherence to safety procedures required Hands-on role requiring operation around industrial machinery and material handling equipment Why Work at MMI?
