  • Coil Winder We are in search of a Coil Winder who will work in our manufacturing facility in Troy, Ml.
Within our Fabrication Department and under the direction of the Production Supervisor, the Coil Winder will proficiently operate wire coiling machines to manufacture quality products within a high-volume manufacturing environment. The Coil Winder position is an important part of our plan to become the world's foremost custom solution provider. As a Coil Winder, you will get to: Operate wire-coiling machines to wind wire, copper foil and sheet coils used in transformers. Review work orders and specifications to determine materials needed and types of parts to be processed. Must have ability to read and interpret winding drawings Operate winding machines, punches, brakes, slitters, and shears Cut, strip, and bend wire leads at ends of coils, using pliers and wire scrapers. Select and load materials such as work pieces, objects, and machine parts onto equipment used in winding processes. Record production and operational data as needed. Attach, alter, and trim materials such as wire, insulation, and coils, using hand tools. Stop machines to remove completed components using overhead cranes. Must have ability to use brazing and welding equipment. Interpret and carry out verbal instructions from designated persons or supervisors Must be able to stand for long periods. Understand the job orders and interact with Epicor software. Understand, complete, and maintain all required paperwork necessary in the operation, including entering data into Epicor. This paperwork/ data includes daily production reports, tally sheets, scrap reports, etc. Perform other duties and projects as assigned.
Job Requirements:
Basic Qualifications:
High School diploma Must have experience in machine operation, or mechanical ability and aptitude to understand how manufacturing equipment works together in a line to produce high quality products. 1 year of experience working in a manufacturing environment Must be able to read, write, and comprehend plant directives written in English.
Additional Qualifications:
Technical secondary education preferred. Previous Brake Press Operation preferred. Basic computer skills preferred, Microsoft Office. Perform simple mathematics to comprehend and interpret process sheets, SOP manuals, tally sheets, etc; and to keep accurate account of materials used during the manufacturing process, including scrap amounts. Able to read various measuring tools (tape measure, calipers, protractor, etc). Physical strength sufficient to lift and carry up to 50 lbs on a regular basis. Frequent lifting, standing, bending, and reaching required. Must adhere to all the PPE requirements to perform the job safely; including but not limited to Eye, Hands, Feet, and Hearing protection.

$21.00 per hour
