Job Description

Mack Engineering Corp., an industry leader since 1942 specializing in advanced CNC machining and precision manufacturing, is seeking an experienced CNC Swiss Lathe Setup / Operator to join our second shift machining team. We are looking for dependable, skilled machinists who take pride in producing high-quality precision parts and can work independently in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Mack Engineering has a stable team of machining professionals, many with over 20 years of industry experience. Position Overview This position is responsible for independently setting up and operating CNC Swiss Lathes and/or CNC Lathes while maintaining quality, efficiency, and production requirements. The ideal candidate has strong setup experience, understands tooling and machining processes, and can troubleshoot and make adjustments independently. Candidates should be comfortable performing inspections and maintaining tight tolerances in a precision machining environment. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated machinist looking for long-term stability, overtime opportunities, and a four-day work week with three-day weekends. Responsibilities Independently set up and operate CNC Swiss Lathes and/or CNC Lathes Select tooling, make offsets, and adjust machine settings as needed Read and interpret blueprints, work instructions, and process documentation Monitor production runs and maintain part quality and dimensional accuracy Perform first-piece, in-process, and final inspections using precision measuring equipment Troubleshoot machining or tooling issues and make necessary process adjustments Maintain production efficiency while meeting quality standards Work with tight tolerances and customer-specific requirements Maintain a clean and organized work area Communicate effectively with supervisors, quality personnel, and team members Support continuous improvement and lean manufacturing initiatives Qualifications Experience setting up and operating CNC Swiss Lathes and/or CNC Lathes Strong understanding of tooling, offsets, feeds, and speeds Ability to read blueprints and inspection documentation Strong working knowledge of precision inspection equipment Ability to work independently with minimal supervision Strong attention to detail and quality Good troubleshooting and problem-solving skills Reliable attendance and strong work ethic Preferred Qualifications Technical degree in machining or equivalent work experience Experience with twin turret machines a plus Experience in a precision machining or production environment Knowledge of tight tolerance machining practices Benefits Competitive pay based on experience and setup capability Health insurance Dental insurance Vision insurance 401(k) with company match Paid time off Tuition reimbursement when applicable Stable, team-oriented work environment Overtime opportunities available Schedule Full-time 2nd Shift Monday-Thursday 4:15 PM - 2:30 AM Enjoy 3-day weekends!
