In this role, you will be responsible for setting up, programming, and operating CNC machines—including CNC lathes and milling machines—using CAD (Computer-Aided Design) software such as AutoCAD and SolidWorks. Your expertise in CNC programming, precision measurement, and schematic interpretation will ensure the production of high-quality components that meet strict specifications. The ideal candidate will possess strong mechanical knowledge, proficiency with Fanuc controls, and a commitment to lean manufacturing principles to optimize efficiency and quality. Duties Interpret technical drawings, schematics, and blueprints to determine machining requirements and specifications. Program CNC machines using CAM (Computer-Aided Manufacturing) software, including CATIA and other relevant tools. Set up CNC equipment by installing tooling, calibrating machines with precision measuring instruments such as bore gauges, calipers, micrometers, and coordinate measuring machines. Operate CNC lathes and milling machines with expertise in Fanuc controls to produce complex parts with tight tolerances. Conduct routine maintenance on CNC machinery to ensure optimal performance and troubleshoot issues promptly. Apply GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing) standards to ensure parts meet design specifications. Utilize electrical discharge machining (EDM) techniques when required for intricate or high-precision components. Implement lean manufacturing practices by identifying process improvements and reducing waste during machining operations. Verify finished parts using precision measuring instruments to ensure compliance with quality standards. Collaborate with engineering teams to review schematics and modify programs for continuous improvement. Maintain detailed documentation of machining processes, setups, and inspections for quality control purposes. Experience Proven experience operating CNC machinery such as CNC lathes and milling machines in a manufacturing environment. Strong proficiency in CAD software including AutoCAD, SolidWorks, and CAM programming tools like CATIA. Familiarity with Fanuc control systems and CNC programming techniques. Knowledge of blueprint reading, schematics interpretation, and GD&T standards. Mechanical aptitude with understanding of tooling selection, geometry calculations, and mechanical assembly processes. Experience working with precision measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, micrometers, and coordinate measuring machines. Background in electrical discharge machining (EDM) is a plus. Ability to apply lean manufacturing principles to improve operational efficiency. Strong mathematical skills relevant to machining tolerances and geometric calculations. Prior experience in a fast-paced manufacturing setting emphasizing quality assurance and continuous improvement.
