Job Description
CNC Machine Operator Bottega Surfaces - Charlotte, NC Position Summary Bottega Surfaces is seeking a skilled and dependable CNC Machine Operator to join our fabrication team in Charlotte, North Carolina. This position is responsible for operating CNC stone fabrication equipment, producing high-quality countertop and architectural stone components, maintaining equipment, and ensuring all products meet company quality standards. The ideal candidate has experience working with natural stone, quartz, porcelain, or similar materials and takes pride in precision craftsmanship, efficiency, and safety. Responsibilities Operate CNC stone fabrication equipment, including bridge saws, CNC routers, and polishing machinery. Load, unload, and position stone slabs and fabricated pieces safely. Read and interpret shop drawings, cut tickets, digital layouts, and production schedules. Verify measurements and ensure all fabrication meets project specifications and tolerances. Perform machine setup, tooling changes, calibration, and routine maintenance. Monitor machine performance and identify quality or operational issues. Inspect finished products for accuracy, quality, and damage before release to production or installation. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment. Assist with material handling, inventory organization, and general shop operations as needed. Work closely with templaters, fabricators, installers, and production management to meet deadlines. Follow all company safety procedures and equipment operating guidelines. Qualifications Experience operating CNC machinery in a stone fabrication, woodworking, metalworking, or manufacturing environment preferred. Experience with natural stone, quartz, porcelain, or solid surface materials is a plus. Ability to read fabrication drawings and understand measurements. Familiarity with CAD/CAM programs such as Slabsmith, DDX, Alphacam, or similar software is preferred. Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality. Ability to troubleshoot equipment and production issues. Reliable attendance and strong work ethic. Forklift experience is a plus. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Physical Requirements Ability to regularly lift, push, pull, and move materials weighing up to 75 pounds. Ability to stand, bend, kneel, and work in a fabrication environment throughout the day. Comfortable working around heavy machinery, stone slabs, dust, and water-fed equipment. Ability to safely handle large-format stone materials.
