Full-time Position Summary:
The CNC Operator 2 performs intermediate CNC operations and supports production through machine setup tasks, offset adjustments, and limited program edits. This role requires greater technical knowledge, increased quality responsibility, and the ability to troubleshoot basic machining issues.
Position Responsibilities:
Load materials and set up CNC machines for production runs Set offsets and make simple CNC program edits as required Identify tooling, router bit types, and sizes Read and interpret drawings, specifications, and work instructions Use calipers and measuring tools to verify part accuracy Monitor work‑in‑process and track live production orders Identify and correct out‑of‑tolerance conditions within scope Communicate production or quality issues to supervision Maintain equipment and work area cleanliness Follow all safety and LOTO procedures
Essential Skills and Experience:
CNC operator training or equivalent hands‑on experience Ability to read and interpret technical drawings Working knowledge of CNC controls and offsets Basic understanding of G‑code and machining processes Strong organizational and quality‑focused mindset
Physical Demands and Work Environment:
Frequently lift 35-50 lbs; team lift required for heavier items Continuous standing, walking, bending, and material handling Repetitive hand use for part loading and inspection Indoor manufacturing environment with controlled airflow Requires close visual acuity for precision machining
