Job Description

Overview We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Turret Punch Operator to join our manufacturing team. In this dynamic role, you will operate turret punch presses to accurately cut sheet metal components according to precise specifications. Your expertise in machinery operation, blueprint reading, and quality inspection will ensure the production of high-quality parts that meet strict standards. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to a fast-paced manufacturing environment where precision and efficiency are paramount. Responsibilities Set up and operate turret punch presses, ensuring proper tooling and machine calibration for each job. Read and interpret detailed blueprints, technical drawings, and work orders to determine cutting patterns and specifications. Program CNC (Computer Numerical Control) systems for complex punching tasks, optimizing machine performance. Conduct routine maintenance and troubleshooting on turret punch machines to minimize downtime and ensure safety. Use precision measuring instruments such as micrometers, calipers, and gauges to inspect finished parts for accuracy and quality. Perform quality inspections throughout the production process, identifying defects or deviations from specifications. Collaborate with fabrication and assembly teams to ensure seamless workflow and timely completion of projects. Qualifications Proven experience operating turret punch presses or similar CNC machinery in a manufacturing setting. Strong mechanical knowledge with familiarity in CNC programming, laser cutting, plasma cutting, stamping presses, CNC lathe, milling machines, and welding processes. Ability to read and interpret blueprints, GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing), and technical drawings accurately. Skilled in using hand tools, tooling setups, calipers, micrometers, and other precision measuring instruments. Knowledge of sheet metal fabrication techniques including tooling adjustments and material handling with forklifts or cranes. Basic math skills for measurements, calculations, and quality control procedures. Understanding of safety protocols related to CNC operations, electrical discharge machining (EDM), press brakes, and other manufacturing equipment. Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high standards of quality and safety.
