CNC Operator Job Description The CNC Operator oversees the daily operation of CNC machinery, ensuring accurate production of parts by running tests, programming and monitoring machines, and performing thorough inspections. Program CNC machines and translate instructions into computer commands so the machines perform the correct functions. Prepare and load raw materials and parts onto machines in a safe and efficient manner. Use CMM machines and precision measuring tools such as calipers and micrometers to inspect parts and verify dimensions. Inspect machinery and finished products to ensure quality assurance standards are met. Perform daily preventative maintenance on CNC machinery to minimize downtime and extend equipment life. Handle materials safely and appropriately in accordance with shop and safety guidelines. Ensure manufacturing processes adhere to all applicable quality regulations and internal standards. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe workplace, including adherence to housekeeping and 5S principles where applicable. Assist with machine setups at least once per week and demonstrate a willingness to learn more advanced setup tasks over time. Collaborate with team members and quality personnel to resolve production issues and continuously improve processes. Essential Skills 1-5 years of CNC operating Haas experience in a manufacturing or related environment. Proven ability to operate CNC machinery and tooling safely and effectively. Experience operating Haas CNC machines or similar equipment. Ability to read and follow blueprints, mechanical drawings, and detailed work instructions. Proficiency using precision measurement tools such as calipers and micrometers for in-process and final inspection.
