Job Description

CNC Machinist / OperatorPosition OverviewWe are seeking an experienced CNC Machinist / Operator to program, set up and run CNC mills and lathes to produce precision parts for aerospace, automotive and industrial customers. The ideal candidate will be proficient in GCode and MCode, experienced with Fanuc, Haas and Mori Seiki controls, and able to read blueprints and apply GD&T to ensure parts meet tight tolerances. This role requires handson machining, tooling/setup, inspection and machine troubleshooting while maintaining safety and quality standards.

Key ResponsibilitiesProgram, edit and optimize GCode and MCode for milling and turning operations.

Operate CNC machines (Fanuc, Haas, Mori Seiki and similar controls) to produce precision components to print.

Perform machine setup including fixturing, tooling setup, tool offsets and tool presetter measurements.

Translate engineering drawings and blueprints into machining processes; apply GD&T requirements.

Run inprocess and final inspections using calipers, micrometers, gauges, and surface plate metrology equipment.

Use CAD/CAM and Mastercam outputs to generate and refine toolpaths and reduce cycle times.

Execute drilling, reaming, threading (taps and dies), grinding and EDM operations as required by the job.

Perform preventive maintenance, routine machine checks and basic machine troubleshooting to minimize downtime.

Document setup sheets, inspection records and production logs; communicate issues with supervisors and engineering.

Follow OSHA and company safety procedures, use appropriate PPE and maintain a clean, organized work area.

Assist in continuous improvement efforts including toolpath optimization, scrap reduction and process documentation.

Train and mentor junior operators on safe and effective CNC operation and setup techniques.

Qualifications2+ years hands on experience as a CNC Machinist / Operator.

Proficient in GCode and MCode and comfortable editing programs on the machine.

Experience with Fanuc and Haas controls; familiarity with Mori Seiki or equivalent CNC controls.

Strong blueprint reading skills and working knowledge of GD&T.Demonstrated CNC setup skills including tooling setup, offsets and use of a tool presetter.

Experience performing inspections and using metrology tools (micrometers, calipers, indicators, surface plate).It is a plus if you have:

Experience with CAM software (ie Mastercam).Knowledge of aerospace or automotive manufacturing standards and practices.
