Job Description

Peoplelink Staffing Solutions is seeking a CNC Lathe Set Up Operator in partnership with a prominent client in the Endicott, NY area.? This role is responsible for setting up and operating CNC lathes in a fast-paced, quality-driven environment. A strong attention to detail, ability to read blueprints, and experience working in a cellular manufacturing setup are essential.

$22-$28 per hour based on experience.
CNC Lathe Set Up Operator Job Duties:
Read and interpret blueprints and work instructions to determine proper cutting tools, speeds, and feed rates. Demonstrate working knowledge of feeds, speeds, and proper cutting tool applications. Operate machinery safely and report any safety hazards, machine malfunctions, or equipment issues immediately. Start and set up machines based on set up sheets, ensuring you are checking displays to detect any malfunctions. Mount and align cutting tools. Change cutting tools, make necessary machine adjustments, and measure parts to ensure conformance to blueprints. Perform in-process inspections and ensure parts meet dimensional and quality requirements. Read and interpret blueprints, planning sheets, and sketches to execute machining plans. Maintain the ability to operate multiple machines in a cellular manufacturing environment. Enter commands to create, retrieve, and store programs in machine computer memory. Generate or edit part programs to optimize production efficiency, cost, and quality. Review orders and drawings to determine specifications. Monitor machine functions, such as cutting depth, feed rate, and coolant flow, to ensure quality and prevent damage. Load and unload parts, ensuring correct orientation of the product. Stop machine and adjust settings and tools as needed to maintain accuracy and optimal cutting conditions. Regularly inspect workpieces using measuring tools (calipers, micrometers, gauges) to verify dimensions and tolerances. Accurately complete all required production documentation, including counts, scrap, and time logs. Guide and assist other employees in machine operation and setup when needed. Perform machine maintenance as required. CNC Lathe Set Up Operator Qualifications and Requirements? High School Diploma/GED 4-6 years of related experience or equivalent education/training. Ability to set up and operate CNC machines and related equipment. Always demonstrates good machining practices. Proficient in performing the most complex setups. Capable of training General Operators to run machines as needed. 2+ years of industry experience Experience with tight tolerances and precise measurement Ability to read and understand blueprints Why you should apply….
