This vital role involves setting up, operating, and maintaining CNC (Computer Numerical Control) lathes to produce precision components in accordance with engineering specifications. The ideal candidate will possess a strong mechanical aptitude, proficiency in machine operation and experience with various precision measuring instruments. This position offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to high-quality manufacturing processes within a dynamic and collaborative environment. 3rd Shift 10pm-6:30am Duties Set up CNC lathe machines, including installing tooling, fixtures, and calibration devices, ensuring optimal operation for each job. Interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) specifications to produce parts accurately. Operate CNC lathe machines ensuring adherence to production schedules and quality standards. Conduct precision measurements using calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, and coordinate measuring machines to verify part dimensions. Perform routine machine maintenance, troubleshooting issues related to electrical discharge machining or tooling wear. Maintain detailed documentation of production activities, machine settings, and inspection results. Follow safety protocols diligently while handling hand tools Support lean manufacturing initiatives by identifying process improvements and reducing waste. Skills Proven experience with set up and operation CNC lathes Knowledge of GD&T principles for precise measurement and quality control. Ability to read complex blueprints and technical drawings accurately. Mechanical knowledge related to machining operations, tooling selection, and fixture setup. Competence in using precision measuring instruments including calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, and coordinate measuring machines. Basic math skills for calculating dimensions, tolerances, and machine offsets. Understanding of manufacturing principles such as lean manufacturing Ability to operate hand tools, power tools, and support assembly tasks effectively. Programming knowledge a plus This position requires a dedicated professional committed to delivering high-quality work within a collaborative team environment.
