Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented CNC Set-Up Operator to join our dynamic manufacturing team. In this role, you will be responsible for preparing and setting up CNC (Computer Numerical Control) machines, including lathes and milling machines, to produce precision components efficiently and accurately. Your expertise in programming, tooling, and machine operation will ensure high-quality output while maintaining safety standards. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work with advanced manufacturing technology in a fast-paced environment dedicated to continuous improvement and excellence. Responsibilities Capable of set up and operation of all machines necessary, including CNC Mills, CNC Lathe, Manual Bridgeport Mill and Manual Lathe, to produce high precision metal parts made from aluminum, steel and stainless steel. Capable of making adjustments to machines and teaching operators correct way to run job. Knowledge of raw materials including aluminum, steel and stainless steel. Knowledge of all quality requirements including geometric dimensioning. Able to read blueprints and execute a plan to produce parts meeting quality and delivery requirements. Able to produce programs and adjustments at the machine. Able to design and build jigs and fixtures for on floor needs. Able to use the computer to log time and post time to job operations. Must be able to work well with others and under pressure. Able to assemble components like bushings, Heli-coils, fasteners to finish requirements. Must be capable of working independently. Skills Strong ability to read blueprints, technical drawings, and GD&T specifications with precision. Proficiency in CNC programming using CAM software; experience with Fanuc controls is highly desirable. Knowledge of electrical discharge machining (EDM) processes for complex part fabrication. Mechanical aptitude with a solid understanding of machining principles, tooling selection, and machine maintenance. Familiarity with CAD (Computer-Aided Design) software such as SolidWorks or similar programs for part design review. Experience operating CNC lathe and milling machines in a manufacturing environment. Skilled in using precision measuring instruments including calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, dial indicators, and coordinate measuring machines (CMM). Ability to interpret blueprints accurately and apply GD&T standards effectively. Basic math skills necessary for calculating dimensions, feeds, speeds, and tolerances during setup. Knowledge of plastics injection molding processes is a plus for component fabrication projects. Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles to optimize setup times and reduce waste. Capable of operating hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, forklifts, and other machinery safely. $22.00 - $26.00 per hour
