Job Title:
CNC Operator Job Description The CNC Operator will be responsible for operating computer numeric control (CNC) machines and machining centers to fabricate both metallic and nonmetallic parts that meet required quality standards. Responsibilities Operate CNC machines and machining centers to fabricate required parts. Use qualified measuring tools on a daily basis. Feed and load raw materials into CNC machines. Inspect parts according to policies and procedures. Troubleshoot and maintain machines, observing operation to detect malfunctions or out-of-tolerance machining, and adjusting controls as needed. Listen to machine operation to detect malfunctions like worn or damaged cutting tools. Perform various inspection operations to ensure quality standards and specifications are maintained. Clean machines, tooling, and parts, and perform maintenance as required. Stack good and raw materials properly within storage areas. Clean and deburr finished parts as needed. Perform quality inspection of first piece as verified by supervisor or quality technician. Monitor and record inventory used (tooling, supplies, and raw materials) and notify appropriate personnel. Complete training requirements for continual technical growth. Practice good housekeeping and maintain a clean workspace. Essential Skills Prior CNC experience. Ability to read and interpret blueprints and schematics. Ability to set up and use measuring tools such as micrometers. Ability to perform machine setup and inspection. Additional Skills & Qualifications Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, procedure manuals, and training documents. Ability to read and understand written and verbal directions. Ability to read and understand mechanical drawings (GD&T a plus). Work Environment This position operates in a manufacturing environment, interacting mostly with internal customers in a professional, courteous, and cooperative manner. Mandatory PPE must be worn as required. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts. The employee is occasionally exposed to humid conditions, fumes or airborne particles, heat, cold, risk of electrical shock, and vibration. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $24.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment. Benefits are subject to change and may be subject to specific elections, plan, or program terms.
