Job Description

American Woodworking Inc ., located in Amelia, Ohio, is a Commercial Custom Millwork Fabricator specializing in the Hospitality market. We are currently looking for a CNC Operator to operate the CNC on a daily basis. The CNC Operator will work closely with our Production Shop Manager, our Project Managers, and our Project Engineer, all who lead in the engineering, fabrication and materials specifications for all systems. Our work is scheduled driven. The qualified candidate must have a strong work ethic and be able to manage their time and multiple priorities effectively while working in a collaborative team environment. The ability to find solutions through positive attitude, taking direction and flexibility is essential. Key Responsibilities of a CNC Operator CNC Operator is tasked with the setting up, and operating, and maintaining the CNC to produce high-quality wood components. The candidate should have an understanding of specifications, technical documents such as blueprints and AutoCAD drawings, and be able to adjust machine settings to ensure accurate production of components. These skills can be developed, but a background in manufacturing is a plus. The Operator is also responsible for performing tests and inspections of machined parts to guarantee that they meet preset quality standards. Keeping records of operations and maintaining the machinery, including basic troubleshooting and reporting of significant machine malfunctions, are also critical duties in this role. Typical Tasks and Duties A typical day for a CNC Operator includes a variety of tasks that contribute to the machining process: Setting up CNC machines, which involves configuring software and adjusting machine settings. Selecting, measuring, and mounting the appropriate tools and attachments for the job. Cut and prepare raw material to required specifications for production. Monitoring the CNC machine during operation to ensure adherence to specifications and making adjustments as necessary to maintain product quality. Inspecting and measuring finished products to ensure they are holding up to quality standards and specifications. Maintaining cleanliness and safety standards in the workplace at all times. Documenting actions by completing production and quality logs. Requirements & Qualifications High school diploma, GED, or equivalent Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality Ability to read basic prints, job travelers, and work instructions Good manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination Ability to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive tasks Additional Responsibilities can include but are not limited to: • Assisting the builders as needed with sanding, edgebanding, etc. Experience of working in a millwork shop environment is a plus. • General cleaning as necessary to maintain an efficient work environment.
