Full Job Description Primary Responsibilities:
Operates one or more previously set up machines. Reads blueprint and job order for such information as dimensions, tolerances, and number of pieces to be machined. Examines machine to become familiar with tooling setup. Loads stock into feeding mechanism. Verifies conformance of sample pieces to specifications, using preset gauges, micrometers, or dial indicators. Adjusts machine controls and changes tool settings to keep dimensions within specified tolerances. Replaces worn tools. May instruct other workers. May use statistical process control techniques.

operator must demonstrate command of this expectation prior to making adjustments without supervision). All operators are expected obtain this ability. Knowledge Requirements:
Must be able to gather information on job processes and report back to management with process improvements Must be able to follow work instructions Must be able to start, stop, control, and adjust the process of the machine Must be able to make judgments on machine operation using knowledge and skills acquired through experience and training and attain precisely set limits
Physical Requirements:
Frequently lift average of 50#, including bending, twisting, crouching, etc. Must be able to stand for 10 hour work shift Must be able to work with oils/coolants Must be able to work in noisy environment Must be able to work in heat in summer and cold in winter Must be able to pass pre-employment drug screening
Other Required Skills and Abilities:
Shop math (i.e. add, subtract, multiply, divide, fractions, decimals, percentages) General blueprint reading
