Job Description
POSITION SUMMARY
The CNC Machine Operator runs milling, turning, and multi-axis machines to produce precision components for aerospace, defense, and industrial customers. This role focuses on executing established programs, loading/unloading parts, performing in-process inspections, and maintaining machine readiness in a production environment. High performers have a clear path to advance into Machinist roles as they develop setup and programming skills.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Operate CNC milling centers, lathes, and multi-axis machines following established programs and setup sheets Load and unload workpieces using fixtures, chucks, and workholding devices; verify proper seating and alignment Perform in-process inspection using precision hand tools (calipers, micrometers, bore gauges) to verify part dimensions against print specifications Monitor tool wear and machine performance; alert machinist or lead when offsets, tool changes, or adjustments are needed Maintain machine cleanliness, coolant levels, and general machine readiness Document production quantities, cycle times, and any anomalies on production travelers Work within automated and lights-out machining cells as required, including robot-assisted part loading Follow all safety protocols, shop procedures, and

quality requirements Communicate proactively with machinists, leads, and quality staff regarding part quality or machine issues
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
1+ years of CNC machine operation experience in a precision machining environment Ability to read and interpret basic engineering drawings and understand dimensional tolerances Comfortable with precision measurement tools (calipers, micrometers, gauges) Understanding of speeds, feeds, and tooling fundamentals Dependable, safety-conscious, and able to maintain attention to detail through production runs Ability to work in a team environment and communicate effectively with machinists and leads
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Experience on multi-axis or 5-axis CNC platforms Exposure to mill-turn or combined-operation machining Experience working with automation or robotic part-loading cells Familiarity with Fanuc, Mazak, Siemens, or similar CNC controls Experience machining aluminum, stainless, titanium, or Inconel Background in aerospace or defense manufacturing
