Overview CNC Machine Operator I is an entry-level role built around three progressive skill phases: PM Operator , Part Load Operator , and Tool Load Operator . Each phase focuses on disciplined habits, accuracy, and safe machine operation. Operators must demonstrate competency at each stage before advancing to the next. 1.PREVENTATIVE MAINTENANCE OPERATOR
Develop discipline, machine awareness, and safe habits by performing essential preventive maintenance tasks.Core Job Responsibilities:
Clean machine exteriors and chip areas Empty and bag chips from chip bins; maintain overall work area cleanliness Check and fill coolant levels; verify and document concentration levels per machine Check way-lube and air-oil reservoir levels; refill as needed Learn and demonstrate the ability to distinguish between all metal types run on production machines Perform routine 5S tasks (organize, restock, maintain floor safety) Identify and promptly report any leaks, alarms, or abnormal machine conditionsExpected Outcome:
A well-maintained machine environment that supports safe operation, reduces downtime, and ensures consistent production readiness. 2.PART LOAD OPERATOR
Develop consistency, accuracy, and disciplined part-handling habits by following standardized loading procedures.Core Job Responsibilities:
Load and unload parts in accordance with job-specific loading procedures and standards Verify correct part orientation, placement, and seating in the fixture Perform basic visual inspections for defects, burrs, misloads, or damage Manage tags, labels, and part flow according to job requirements Track and record accurate part counts throughout the shift Load and unload parts following defined sequence steps Maintain fixture cleanliness; remove chips from clamps, stops, and locators Track and claim finished parts pulled from machines using Epicor Immediately escalate abnormalities, suspected quality issues, or loading concerns toArea Supervisors Expected Outcome:
Consistent, accurate part loading that supports stable machining processes and reduces scrap, rework, and machine interruptions. 3.TOOL LOAD OPERATOR
Develop disciplined, accurate tool-handling habits by following standardized tool loading procedures and ensuring correct tooling is prepared for machining operations.Core Job Responsibilities:
Load and unload cutting tools in accordance with job-specific tool loading procedures and standards Verify correct tool number, length, diameter, nose radius, and holder type against setup documentation Inspect tools for wear, chipping, coating damage, or incorrect assembly Clean toolholders, tapers, retention knobs, and spindle interfaces prior to installation Set or verify tool lengths and diameters using presetters or machine probing cycles Ensure tools are properly seated, tightened, and free of chips or contamination Replace tools at defined wear limits or as notified by machinists or tool-life monitoring Track and record tool changes, replacements, and inventory usage Maintain cleanliness and organization of tool carts, drawers, inserts, holders, and tooling hardware Immediately escalate abnormalities, suspected tool issues, or loading concerns toArea Supervisors Expected Outcome:
Consistent, accurate, and reliable tool setups that support stable machining performance, reduce tool-related scrap, and ensure machines run safely and efficiently.Shift & Pay:
Shift 1: Mon-Thurs / 4:30a-5p / $17.00 Shift 2: Mon-Thurs / 4:30p-5a / $19.00 Shift 3: Fri-Sun / 4:30a-5p / $18.50 / (work 35 hours a week, given additional 5 reg hours) Shift 4: Fri-Sun / 4:30p-5a / $20.00 / (work 35 hours a week, given additional 5 reg hours) •Benefits after 30 days: Medical, dental, vision, life•Paid Weekly, on ThursdaysDETAILS / REQUIREMENTS
Shop is climate controlled and clean Must be mechanically inclined and eager to learn Reliable personal transportation and will show up for work! Good Work History Required withLONGEVITY
Must have recent manufacturing/shop experience Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and be on your feet for 12 hours. Pass drug test and background check (No felonies, nothing violent, sexual or pending) Immediate availability Must be US CitizenINTERESTED?
