CNC Operator / Machinist

Overview Kraus, LLC, located in St. George, Utah, is a global leader in the design and manufacture of high-quality, precision-machined components for the performance V-Twin motorcycle industry. Kraus Motor Co. is a private, family-owned, and family-oriented mid-size consumer brand company that is experiencing exponential growth and expansion. We are looking for a CNC Operator /Machinist to join our team. This is a hands-on, active position with lots of room to learn, grow, and lead. Must take initiative and know how to get things done with efficiency. Duties Set up, program, and operate CNC machines such as CNC lathes and milling machines using Fanuc controls, ensuring precise execution of machining operations. Read and interpret complex blueprints, technical drawings, GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing), and CAD/CAM files to produce parts that meet strict specifications. Utilize precision measuring instruments including calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, and coordinate measuring machines to verify dimensions during and after machining processes. Perform routine maintenance on CNC equipment, troubleshoot issues promptly, and make necessary adjustments to maintain optimal performance. Select appropriate tooling and tooling setups; utilize hand tools and power tools for assembly, deburring, or finishing tasks as needed. Follow lean manufacturing principles to optimize workflow, reduce waste, and improve overall productivity. Communicate with supervisor regarding machining processes, inspection results, and quality control records in compliance with safety standards. Experience Proven experience operating CNC mills or CNC lathes with a strong understanding of CNC programming languages like G-code. Experience working with precision measuring instruments including calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, and coordinate measuring machines (CMM). Basic math skills for calculating measurements, tolerances, feed rates, speeds, and other machining parameters. Ability to operate forklifts safely; familiarity with lean manufacturing practices enhances efficiency. Strong attention to detail combined with excellent hand-eye coordination; capable of working independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
