From $24.00 per hour (higher compensation available based on experience) Position Summary We are looking for a skilled CNC Fabrication Equipment Operator to join a second-shift production team. This role is responsible for operating automated equipment used to fabricate structural steel components while ensuring quality, accuracy, and workplace safety. Candidates should be comfortable working with heavy materials and interpreting fabrication documentation. Primary Responsibilities Set up and operate CNC fabrication equipment, including plasma cutting systems, beam drill lines, and angle processing machines Review blueprints, fabrication drawings, and work orders to determine production requirements Load, position, and secure structural steel materials using overhead cranes and approved rigging methods Monitor machine performance and make operational adjustments to maintain quality standards Verify dimensions and tolerances using tape measures, calipers, squares, and other precision measuring tools Make basic CNC program modifications to accommodate varying material sizes and thicknesses Perform routine machine inspections, preventive maintenance, and basic troubleshooting Keep the work area organized and follow OSHA guidelines along with established shop safety procedures Preferred Qualifications High school diploma or GED required; technical or vocational training is a plus At least two years of experience operating CNC equipment in a structural steel fabrication, metal fabrication, or heavy manufacturing environment Ability to read and interpret structural steel fabrication drawings and production documents Experience using precision measuring instruments to verify finished parts Familiarity with overhead cranes, forklifts, and rigging practices is preferred Strong mechanical aptitude with excellent attention to detail Ability to prioritize tasks, work independently, and contribute effectively within a production team
