Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented CNC Punch Operator to join our manufacturing team. In this role, you will operate and maintain CNC punch presses to accurately cut and shape sheet metal components according to detailed blueprints and specifications. Your expertise will ensure precision, efficiency, and quality in every part produced. Responsibilities Set up and operate CNC punch presses, ensuring proper tooling and machine calibration for each job. Read and interpret detailed blueprints, technical drawings, and GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing) specifications to produce precise parts. Program CNC punch machines using CAD/CAM software or manual input to create accurate cutting patterns. Conduct routine inspections of finished parts using micrometers, calipers, and other precision measuring instruments to verify dimensions meet quality standards. Perform regular maintenance on CNC equipment, including tool changes, troubleshooting machine issues, and ensuring safety protocols are followed. Collaborate with fabrication and assembly teams to ensure parts meet project requirements and delivery deadlines. Maintain accurate production logs, inspection reports, and tooling records for traceability and quality assurance. Requirements Proven experience operating CNC punch presses or similar sheet metal fabrication machinery. Strong mechanical knowledge of CNC laser cutting, plasma cutting, stamping presses, CNC milling machines, CNC lathes, and electrical discharge machining (EDM). Ability to read blueprints accurately and understand GD&T principles for precise manufacturing. Proficiency with CNC programming software and manual machine setup procedures. Familiarity with hand tools, tooling selection, and fabrication techniques for sheet metal components. Knowledge of quality inspection tools such as micrometers, calipers, and precision measuring instruments. Basic math skills for measurements, calculations, and machine adjustments. Ability to operate forklifts and cranes safely when handling raw materials or finished parts is a plus.
