Hourly wage plus an additional $2/hr. shift differential. The CNC Machinist Technician-Operator will assist with setting up CNC mills and lathes. Troubleshooting, training production personnel in working towards Continuous Improvement and improving throughput. Duties and Responsibilities Set up and operate CNC equipment in the machining department including but not limited to Mori CNC, Okuma CNC, Komo CNC, Haas CNC, Toshiba CNC Machines, and common manual machining equipment, as needed. Focus will be on advanced setups and historically problematic setups. Experience with SolidWorks, FeatureCam, or MasterCam and ability to read, program and run general Fanuc programs and Macro's are a plus. Evaluates the sequence of machine operations, the proper cutting tools needed to attain the highest quality part in the most efficient manor, while achieving the greatest part profitability. Possesses a strong understanding of the principles of machining to select and identify the proper tooling for operations being performed and calculate proper feeds and speeds for a variety of material grades. Read, understand, edit or write complete programs identifying efficiency opportunities. Observes and analyzes machining cycles to identify and implement waste and time saving opportunities. Is self-motivated and driven and promptly seeks their next task, while requiring minimal supervision. Ability to manage and prioritize their schedule and workload for on time delivery of tasks and projects. Support and partner with other Set-up Operators to maintain production and raise overall proficiency. Create setup sheet to document the tooling needed for future runs. Understand quality systems and perform necessary inspections while operating machines. Keep accurate production and quality records. Must have print reading experience with some Geometric tolerance an added plus. Follow safety rules and regulations while maintaining a safe and clean workspace.
