Occupational Description:
Manages and leads a team of employees. Communicates company goals, safety practices, and deadlines to team. Motivates team members and assesses performance. Provides help to management, including training, and keeps management updated on team performance. Communicates concerns and policies among management and team members. Duties and responsibilities for
CNC Lead:
Strong personal work and attendance ethics, works independently, follows instructions, can concentrate for long periods of time Strong leadership/management skills To share expertise and knowledge throughout the machine shop and be a focal point for advice on machining operations Maintain work flow within the machine shop to create efficient thru put of materials. Participate in resolving questions or problems concerning programs and machining issues. Provide Supervisor with input concerning employee performance, quality, and workflow issues. Assist in maintaining a high standard of quality for the machine shop, including checking work. Train and assist machinist on CNC machines Follow all safety guidelines and report unsafe conditions to Supervisor. Read work orders and run pre-determined files with correct tooling and jigs to maximize productivity. Perform inspection of machined products (including documentation of results). Work with CNC programmers to diagnose and eliminate defective parts and machine downtime. Drive forklift to stage needed material near CNC worktable. Special projects as requested.
Skills/Qualifications:
High level of organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to multi-task. Excellent communication skills (Written and Verbal). Ability to maintain tool operation, machinery safeguards, inspection, material storage, inventory control, and documentation. Machine shop experience preferred. Extensive knowledge in CNC machine components and operations. The position will require the ability to bend, twist, squat, kneel, climb, lift, and other repetitive movements associated with loading/unloading material. Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Outlook and Excel.
Education/Experience:
High school diploma or GED and machine shop experience is required. Certificate or Degree preferred.
