Mastercam Programmer CNC Milling 5 axis and Tool Design We are a manufacturer of precision machined parts serving the Aerospace and defense industries. Our firm is well established, growing as we are very busy, and we have a full time opening for an experienced Mastercam CNC programmer. This is for an on site programmer, using our licensed Mastecam workstations. This multi role position is ideal for that ambitious person wishing to help grow our company towards success. Responsibilities and Duties The following roles for this position include: CNC Mill Programmer 3,4, and 5 axis milling. Milling programming focus. CNC Lathe Programmer, multi spindle, live tooling is desired too, but not reqd participate in weekly Manufacturing planning committee meetings Organizing the CAD CAM related programs, files, models, etc. General Duties:
Create in house, Mastercam machine G code programs for CNC mills and Lathes using Mastercam. Program the geometry from customer supplied "blueprint" 2D drawings, parts lists, or from customer furnished 3D CAD models. Work with the Machine Shop Supervisor, Quality Manger, Planning Engineer and come up with best practices for tooling, cutters, holding fixtures, feeds and speeds to machine aircraft alloy grades of aluminum or heat treated steels. Assist with machine setup first article proving, troubleshoot and modify existing CNC programs for vertical, horizontal milling; 3, 4+ and 5 axis milling. Also program 5 axis milling programs for DMG Mori DMU 50 5
axis mills having Siemens Celos controls. Assist with the design for work holding tooling for short and production runs. Maintains and responsible for organizing the storage of 3D Model libraries, CNC programs, CAD/CAM libraries process, and tooling records for production programs in compliance with customer and company procedures. Be an team player, part of the Planning Comittee, which reviews jobs for manufacturing best practices. Provide input, suggestions, and support the decisions of the Shop Supervisor. Provide input to the required machining steps to make a quality part. Organize, manage, maintain storage, filing, version control of all models, programs, programs created. Manage backing up of machine code to the network. Comply with our MDB DPD procedures. Qualifications and Skills General knowledge of both Milling and Lathe machining practices Must have the ability to read and interpret GD&T engineering drawings. 5 Years minimum experience as a CNC programmer for Mills 3 4, 4+ 5 axis. Some experience mill turn lathe programing multi spindle and Live tooling would be desirable. CNC programmer must demonstrate the ability to interpret mechanical machined parts engineering drawings using GD&T Experience and functional hands on programming with Mastercam writing CNC computer programs. Must know some G code and Fanuc, Siemens Celos or Mazitrol controls. CAD model making experience is required. Experience designing tooling, holding fixtures, knowledge of cutting tools, feeds and speeds for aircraft alloys, and heat treated materials. Communicate effectively to give instructions, mentoring and to assist machinists with machine setup and programming. Basic Computer skills, such as email use, MS Excel, network file saving, email. Must be able to work from customer supplied blueprints or models. Be able to edit and proof out programs and to diagnose and rectify tooling problems. US Citizenship or green card holder such is required for compliance to ITARS US
Govt contracts regulations. Demonstrate organization, control and will manage storing, naming, backing up of models, programs, sketches on the file server, and backing up of machine resident programs to the file server. Ability to create shop aide manufacturing sketches and drawings for internal use. Must be able to clearly communicate via verbal, written the tasks effectively in English to accomplish the job. Ability to complete time keeping paperwork, logs, account for labor hours. Benefits This is a full time position in our air conditioned facility, with a shared office.
