software Manufacturing facility Mechanical drawings Attention to detail Holding fixtures proficiency CNC G-code Programming Milling machines Continuous process improvement (CPI) Cutting tools Full Job Description Job Overview We are seeking an experienced CNC Programmer who can take a part from print to production, develop efficient machining strategies, collaborate across departments, and support the shop floor to ensure quality, productivity, and on-time delivery. The ideal candidate is highly proficient in both milling and turning applications and possesses extensive experience programming complex multi-axis machining centers using Mastercam. Duties & Responsibilities Create, optimize, and maintain CNC programs using Mastercam. Interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing) specifications to ensure precise machining. Program 3-axis, 4-axis, and 5-axis milling machines. Program CNC lathes, live-tool lathes, and multi-axis mill-turn machines. Develop and improve setup sheets, tooling lists, workholding strategies, and manufacturing processes. Create and maintain Operational Inspection Reports (OIRs). Collaborate with machinists, engineering, and quality personnel to improve efficiency, quality, and cycle times. Support setup personnel and machinists by troubleshooting programming, tooling, and manufacturing challenges. Review part designs and provide recommendations to improve manufacturability and production efficiency. Ensure compliance with company quality standards, safety requirements, and documentation procedures. Research, evaluate, test, and implement new cutting tools, workholding systems, and machining methods to improve cycle times, increase tool life, reduce manufacturing costs, and support continuous improvement initiatives. Provide cycle time estimates and technical input to support quoting activities when required. Qualifications Minimum 7+ years of CNC programming experience in a precision machining environment. Advanced proficiency in Mastercam. Extensive experience programming both CNC milling and turning equipment. 5-axis milling programming experience required. Candidates must demonstrate hands-on programming experience in both milling and turning applications. Applicants with experience limited to only milling or only turning may not be considered. Strong knowledge of CNC machining processes, cutting tools, feeds and speeds, and workholding techniques. Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and GD&T. Strong problem-solving and process improvement skills. Experience in aerospace, medical, defense, or other high-precision manufacturing industries preferred. Preferred Attributes Self-motivated with strong attention to detail. Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
