In this energetic position, you will leverage your expertise in CNC programming to optimize machining processes, ensure accuracy, and enhance productivity. Your mechanical knowledge and proficiency with advanced software tools will drive efficiency and innovation on the shop floor. Responsibilities Develop, write, and optimize CNC programs for various machining centers including CNC lathes and milling machines using CAD/CAM software such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, and CATIA. Interpret complex blueprints, schematics, GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing), and technical drawings to ensure precise manufacturing specifications. Set up and operate CNC machines, including electrical discharge machining (EDM), ensuring proper tooling, fixtures, and calibration for each job. Utilize precision measuring instruments like bore gauges, micrometers, calipers, bore gauges, and coordinate measuring machines (CMM) to verify part dimensions and quality standards. Implement lean manufacturing principles to streamline processes, reduce waste, and improve overall efficiency on the production floor. Troubleshoot machining issues by analyzing geometry, tooling wear, and machine performance; adjust programs accordingly for optimal results. Maintain detailed documentation of programs, setups, inspections, and process improvements to support continuous quality enhancement. Skills Proficiency in CNC programming for lathe and milling machines with experience in Fanuc controls. Strong knowledge of CAD software such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, and CATIA for designing parts and creating toolpaths. Expertise in CAM programming to generate efficient machining strategies aligned with manufacturing goals. Deep understanding of blueprint reading, schematics, GD&T standards, and geometric tolerances to ensure parts meet specifications. Mechanical aptitude with knowledge of tooling selection, fixture setup, electrical discharge machining (EDM), and precision measurement instruments. Familiarity with lean manufacturing concepts to promote continuous improvement initiatives. Excellent math skills for calculating dimensions, feeds & speeds, tolerances, and geometric relationships necessary for precise machining.
