Job Description

CNC Programmer/Setup Machinist Inglewood, CA 90302 From $38 an hour - Full-time From $38 an hour - Full-time We have an opening for a Programmer/Setup Machinist. Machinist shall have experience operating either Haas, Fadal or comparable VMC machine tools. Experience with manual machines a plus. Compensation will be competitive and commensurate with experience.
POSITION SUMMARY
The Machinist completes CNC Programming using CAD/CAM for up to 6 CNC machines. The Machinist will also setup machines for less experienced operators and will run parts needing special attention or when staffing/customer deadlines require it. The Machinist will create CNC programs for manufacturing aerospace components, perform cutter selection, maximize tooling/cutter lifespan, create setup documentation, design and fabricate tooling fixtures, create tooling programs, and produce verification and shop aid sketches. The Machinist will create CNC programs for manufacturing of mid to high complexity aerospace components. (Tolerances can be under .001" including GD&T features such as position, flatness, and parallelism)
REQUIRED SKILLS 7
years' experience in each of the following: CAM Programming for Mill (2.5 to 3 axis) CNC Verify CNC code to engineering models by running simulator to ensure accuracy Support and monitor CNC operators during setups and operation process Create step by step operational instructions based on CNC manufacturing procedure and necessary inspection plans
ADDITIONAL SKILLS
Inspection using tools such as micrometers, height gage, calipers and CMM Use and operate safely all appropriate hand tools and other machinery associated with the machine shop Ability to professionally communicate and work cooperatively with others MUST be flexible. We are a smaller shop and priorities can change often. If necessary, position may require performance of tasks such as deburring or assembly Willingness to learn new responsibilities and train others when requested
COMPUTER SKILLS
Must have experience with CAM software packages including MasterCAM and/or Fusion 360 or other comparable software, and experience working in a Windows environment. OTHER High school diploma or equivalency certificate Drug free workplace Maintain a clean and organized work area at all times Constantly keep products moving and alert management when production is inhibited Ability to lift 25 lbs. unassisted, repetitive movement, bending or twisting, using hands to handle, control, or feel objects, tools or controls, exposure to sounds and noise levels that are distracting, exposure to typical shop chemicals (coolant, solvents, cleaners) are generally required to perform the functions of this position Regular attendance and positive attitude required. Must be able to work all required shift hours, overtime and (in rare cases) weekends.
ITAR REQUIREMENTS
To conform to U.S. Government technology export regulations, including the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) you must be a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident of the U.S., protected individual as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3), or eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State.
