In this role, you will be responsible for developing, optimizing, and maintaining CNC (Computer Numerical Control) programs to ensure precise and efficient machining operations. Your expertise will directly contribute to producing high-quality components with tight tolerances, utilizing advanced programming techniques and manufacturing technologies. amerimade.com Responsibilities Develop and modify CNC programs using CAM (Computer-Aided Manufacturing) software such as Mastercam or CATIA to produce complex parts with precision. Interpret detailed blueprints, schematics, GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing), and technical drawings to ensure accurate machining. Set up and operate CNC equipment, including CNC lathes and milling machines, ensuring proper tooling, fixtures, and machine parameters are in place. Utilize precision measuring instruments like bore gauges, micrometers, calipers, dial indicators, and coordinate measuring machines (CMM) to verify part dimensions against specifications. Collaborate with engineering teams to review CAD (Computer-Aided Design) models created in SolidWorks or AutoCAD for manufacturability. Implement lean manufacturing principles to optimize machining processes, reduce waste, and improve cycle times. Conduct troubleshooting on CNC machinery and programming issues to minimize downtime and maintain high productivity standards. Ensure compliance with safety protocols by following schematics, electrical discharge machining procedures, and machine safety guidelines. Experience Proven experience programming CNC machines such as CNC milling machines and CNC lathes in a manufacturing environment. Strong knowledge of Fanuc controls or similar CNC control systems for efficient machine operation. Proficiency in CAD/CAM software including SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or CATIA for designing and programming parts. Familiarity with GD&T principles for precise measurement and quality control of machined components. Mechanical knowledge of tooling setups, geometry calculations, schematics interpretation, and electrical discharge machining processes. Experience working with precision measuring instruments like bore gauges, micrometers, calipers, dial indicators, and coordinate measuring machines (CMM). Ability to read blueprints accurately and translate them into effective machining programs while adhering to strict tolerances. Knowledge of lean manufacturing practices aimed at continuous improvement within a fast-paced production setting.
