Job Description

CNC Programmer/Machinist Adaptive Aerospace Corporation | Tehachapi, CA Full-Time | $35-$55/hour DOE + Benefits Adaptive Aerospace Corporation is seeking a skilled, detail-oriented CNC Programmer/Machinist to support the manufacturing and inspection of precision aerospace components. This role is ideal for a motivated machinist/programmer with aerospace experience who enjoys hands-on work across programming, setup, machining, and quality inspection. The position supports the production of FAA PMA-approved aerospace components in an AS9100-compliant manufacturing environment. Key Responsibilities CNC Programming & Machining
  • Program, set up, and operate the following equipment: HAAS 5-Axis CNC Mill Tormach 1100MX 3-Axis CNC Mill Panel Pro program-driven CNC router
  • Develop and optimize CNC programs and toolpaths for precision aerospace components.
  • Coordinate complex multi-axis machining operations involving X, Y, Z, A, and B/C axes.
  • Program complex tool changes and rapid movements within tight machining envelopes.
  • Work from SolidWorks models, DXF files, engineering drawings, and customer specifications.
  • Select tooling, fixtures, and machining strategies to improve efficiency while maintaining quality standards. Quality Control & Inspection
  • Perform first article inspections and in-process quality checks.
  • Program and operate Hexagon AbsoluteArm metrology equipment.
  • Interpret engineering drawings and GD&T requirements.
  • Calibrate probes and inspection equipment to maintain tight-tolerance accuracy.
  • Maintain inspection records, traceability documentation, and quality reports in accordance with aerospace quality standards. Shop Support & Maintenance
  • Assist with preventive maintenance and machine upkeep.
  • Maintain organized tooling, fixtures, and work areas.
  • Collaborate with engineering, quality, and production teams to support manufacturing goals and schedules. Required Qualifications
  • 3-5+ years of CNC programming and machining experience.
  • Experience with 3-axis and 5-axis CNC machining.
  • Ability to independently set up and operate CNC equipment.
  • Experience working in aerospace or other precision manufacturing environments.
  • Proficiency with SolidWorks and DXF-based workflows.
  • Experience performing precision inspections and using metrology equipment.
  • Strong understanding of machining fundamentals, tooling, feeds and speeds, and workholding.
  • Experience machining aluminum alloys, advanced composites, stainless steel, and other aerospace-grade materials.
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to quality workmanship. Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with CAM software such as Fusion 360, Mastercam, or similar platforms.
  • Experience with Tormach mills and PathPilot controls.
  • Familiarity with Hexagon AbsoluteArm systems.
  • Familiarity with AS9100 and/or FAA PMA manufacturing standards.
  • Experience with Panel Pro or similar CNC routing software.
  • Understanding of GD&T and aerospace inspection processes. Compensation & Benefits

Pay:
$35.00 - $45.00 per hour
