Job Description

Job Overview Established and reputable manufacturing company seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented CNC Lathe Programmer to join our dynamic manufacturing team. In this role, you will be responsible for setting up, operating, editing and programming CNC lathe machines to produce high precision components in a prototype and production environment that meet strict quality standards. Your expertise in CNC lathe machining and programming, tooling, and mechanical principles will drive efficiency and excellence in our machining processes. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work with advanced equipment and contribute to innovative manufacturing solutions in a fast-paced environment. Duties Develop and write CNC lathe programs using Fanuc controls at the machine, ensuring accurate machining of complex parts according to technical drawings and specifications. Read and Interpret blueprints, schematics, and GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing) to determine machining requirements and ensure precision. Set up CNC lathes by selecting appropriate tooling, fixtures, and measuring instruments like bore gauges, calipers, micrometers, and bore gauges to ensure proper alignment and calibration. Optimize machining processes through lean manufacturing principles to reduce waste, improve cycle times, and enhance productivity. Conduct routine inspections using coordinate measuring machines (CMM) and precision measuring instruments to verify part dimensions and quality standards. Troubleshoot machining issues related to tooling, geometry, or machine settings; adjust programs accordingly for continuous improvement. Maintain detailed documentation of programs, setups, inspections, and process adjustments for quality control and reproducibility. Ability to consistently work to tight tolerance with minimal Non-conformance Complete understanding of Fanuc controllers Experience with setup and operation of 3 axis vertical machines Experience 5+ years of proven experience programming CNC lathes with Fanuc controls (at the machine) in a manufacturing environment. Strong knowledge of CNC programming languages such as G-code and M-code. Hands-on experience with CNC lathe machines; understanding of multi-axis machining is advantageous. Knowledge of blueprint reading, schematics, GD&T principles, and mechanical drawings to interpret complex specifications accurately. Experience working with precision measuring instruments like micrometers, calipers, bore gauges, and coordinate measuring machines (CMM). Ability to consistently work to tight tolerance with minimal Non-conformance Complete understanding of Fanuc controllers Experience with set-up and operation of 3-axis vertical machines
