The CNC Programmer is responsible for programming, setup, and operation of 3, 4, and 5-axis CNC machines (4 axis Robodrill, 5 axis Matsuura, Eurotech and Nakamura mill-turn) to produce precision medical components. This 1st shift role supports new product development (NPD), new product introduction (NPI), and existing production, focusing on efficient machining strategies, process optimization, and quality compliance. Responsibilities Create, modify, and optimize CNC programs using Mastercam, including advanced toolpath strategies and macro logic. Own machining process development (3, 4, and 5-axis), from concept through production, including tooling, work-holding, and setup strategy, ensuring repeatable and efficient production. Interpret technical drawings, GD&T, and specifications to ensure accurate part manufacturing. Select appropriate tooling, work-holding, and machining strategies based on material and geometry. Develop and refine machining processes to improve cycle time, tool life, and overall efficiency. Establish and verify process capability and ensure parts meet quality standards. Collaborate with engineering, quality, and production teams during new product development, introduction, and ongoing manufacturing. Troubleshoot machining issues and implement corrective actions to maintain production flow. Support inspection activities and work with CMM/Zeiss Calypso as needed. Maintain organized documentation of programs, setups, and process improvements. Ensure compliance withISO 13485
quality standards and internal procedures.Requirements:
Proficiency in CNC programming using Mastercam (preferred), including multi-axis machining and macro logic. Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience with CNC milling, turning, set-up, and production machining, holding close tolerances (= 0.001). Experience machining hardened materials preferred (Stainless Steel > 37 HRC) Strong understanding of GD&T and ability to interpret technical drawings. Experience with advanced manufacturing technologies and machining best practices. Familiarity with FANUC controls is a plus. Experience with CMM inspection and Zeiss Calypso is a plus. Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented manufacturing environment. Prior experience in medical device or high-volume precision manufacturing preferred. High school diploma or equivalent. Technical school preferred.Similar remote jobs
