You set work and tool offsets, dry-run the path, and cut a first article. With micrometers and gauges in hand, you inspect to blueprint specs, make fine adjustments, and document results. Midday, you collaborate with engineering to tighten cycle times. You perform routine maintenance, clear chips, and keep your cell spotless. As needs shift, you may pivot to a 5-axis VMC or a 2-4 axis lathe to help the team deliver on customer commitments. Core Responsibilities Program, set up, and operate CNC milling machines to produce precision parts that meet customer specifications. Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and part specifications to plan machining strategies. Conduct in-process and final quality checks; hold tolerances per print. Troubleshoot machining issues and perform routine machine maintenance. Partner with engineering and production to optimize tooling, feeds/speeds, and setups. Maintain a safe, clean, and organized workstation at all times. What You Bring High school diploma or equivalent; a technical degree in machining or related field is preferred. Hands-on experience as a CNC machinist with strong milling knowledge. Fluency in reading/understanding blueprints and technical drawings. Exceptional attention to detail and pride in high-quality output. Ability to thrive independently and collaborate in a fast-paced shop. Proactive problem-solver who anticipates and addresses challenges. Physical Demands Stand for extended periods and perform repetitive motions. Manual dexterity to handle small parts, tools, and precision instruments. Lift up to 50 pounds as needed.
