Job Description
Mechanical Parts Cost Estimator responsible for preparing CNC machining cost estimates based on blueprints, material requirements, machining time, subcontract services, and production planning needs. Requirements High school diploma Minimum of 5 years of experience with mechanical parts cost estimation for CNC machining CNC machine shop background Experience in a stand-alone CNC machine shop or CNC machining department within a larger manufacturing environment Knowledge of CAD/CAM software Experience with Microsoft Office, including Excel Experience reviewing customer blueprints and requirements Experience estimating machining time, raw materials, and subcontract services Experience reviewing quotes Preferred Skills GD&T knowledge Experience estimating precision machined parts Experience preparing estimates for planning, lead times, and production scheduling Responsibilities Review customer blueprints and requirements for CNC machined parts Estimate machining time required to produce precision machined parts Estimate raw material requirements Estimate subcontract service requirements Prepare cost estimates for planning, lead times, and scheduling work Review quotes related to CNC machining work Consult with customers, vendors, and internal personnel to resolve estimate-related issues Interact with engineers and subcontractors on changes and adjustments to cost estimates
