Job Description

CNC Laser & Fabrication Programmer A well-established leader in the storage equipment industry, specializing in commercial shelving and specialty storage solutions in the Naperville area, is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Fabrication Programmer to join our manufacturing team. In this dynamic role, you will be responsible for programming a variety of CNC machinery to produce high-precision components. Your expertise in CNC/CAM programming, technical drawing interpretation, and sheet metal fabrication workflows will ensure the efficient production of high-quality parts. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work with advanced fabrication technology in a fast-paced environment dedicated to operational excellence and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities CNC Programming:
Program CNC Laser cutting systems, Turret Punches, Press Brakes, and Panel Benders using CAD/CAM software to optimize nesting and ensure precise fabrication based on detailed technical specifications.
Technical Interpretation:
Read and interpret complex engineering drawings, blueprints, and GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing) symbols to guarantee parts meet strict design intent.
Data Management:
Create, update, and maintain accurate production routings and manufacturing data within the ERP system.
Process Optimization:
Collaborate with production teams to troubleshoot programming issues, optimize machine run times, and streamline tooling setups.
Required Experience & Skills Experience:
Minimum of 2 years of experience in CNC/CAM programming and operation within a precision sheet metal manufacturing or factory environment.
Software Proficiency:
Hands-on experience using CAD/CAM software; proficiency with SolidWorks for design adjustments and tooling setup is highly preferred.
Technical Knowledge:
Strong understanding of GD&T principles, precise measurement protocols, and manufacturing workflows (including fabrication, welding, forming, and finishing processes).
Automation & Math:
Familiarity with machine automation control systems or PLCs, alongside the solid mathematical skills required for precise calculations and process adjustments. Why Join Us?
