GETT Industries is a machine shop that has made shafts and various race car parts for Evernham Racing to large machinery parts for companies such as John Deere.
JOB SUMMARY
The CNC Horizontal Mill Programmer, Setup Operators are in charge of operating the computer numerical control (CNC) machines. They program, setup and produce machined parts according to established parameters and specifications. At times they may perform inspections of parts, machines and/or work area. A CNC Horizontal Mill Programmer, Setup Operator also calibrates all machines to the proper operating level.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Ability to program, setup, and run horizontal mills Ability to select own tooling needs while maintaining tool life Select the correct speeds and feeds Perform quality checks with an understanding of GD&T Calculate dimensions and tolerance using measuring instruments Ability to program from Master Cam or similar software a plus Program by entering instructions, calculating requirements (including basic match, geometry, and trigonometry), and part programs. Must have G Code experience Keep area organized Process and complete shop documents to ensure accuracy for cost accounting of jobs and hours of work Works closely with co-workers and management Performs other duties as assigned An individual in this position must be able to successfully perform the essential duties and responsibilities listed above. EXPERIENCE AND REQUIRED SKILLS
While we are willing to train, this isn't an entry level position for people who simply need a job. Define problems and suggest workable solutions. Previous experience in machining, preferably 3 to 5+ years and/or relevant schooling experience. Work ethic and the desire to grow with the company is a must! Ability to work well independently and with others. Ability to program, setup and run small lot sizes. Ability to read, follow and understand prints, manufacturing instructions and quality plans. G Code experience required. Experience with Master Cam or similar software. Strong analytical and mathematical skills. Produce minimal to no scrap, quality and attention to detail is a must! Be a self-starter while maintaining quality and safety standards. Follows instructions, responds to management direction. Excellent attendance and a positive demeanor required. Requires good oral and written communication skills to effectively communicate with others.

PHYSICAL AND MENTAL DEMANDS
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is: Frequently (>45%) required to stand, walk, talk, see and/or hear, lift and/or move up to 40 pounds, and/or use hands to finger, handle, manipulate, or touch objects, materials, tools, and/or controls. Required to push, pull, reach, stoop, bend, squat, and/or climb. Required to see, talk, and hear. Repetition with activity. Specific vision abilities required by the job includes close vision, distance vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus. Intermittently (< 15%) required to sit, lift and/or move up to 100 pounds or more with mechanical assistance.

WORKING ENVIRONMENT
Work is performed in a shop environment. The noise level in the work environment is occasionally loud with machines running. The shop environment frequently contains different levels of hot and cold as well as frequent exposure to dust, metals, and oil particles.
