(see details below) Overview The CNC Programmer / Process Engineer is a precision-oriented professional with leadership qualities, a passion for hands-on experience, and a desire to grow with a great team. The primary function and role will deal with the creation and maintenance of multi-axis programs to create multi-surface turned and milled CNC parts (on Takisawa, Brother, Citizen Swiss and Okuma CNC machines). The role requires the ability to generate a program, select the chucking device, cutting tools, tool arrangement and cutting speeds and feeds for aluminum, steel alloy, brass, cast iron, stainless steel and superalloy parts. This position may also offer opportunities for personal growth and diversity of experiences, including: concept, design and development of new automation and robotics projects; implementation of improvements to production processes, methods and controls; and research and selection of new technology and equipment. Working hours for this position are 6:30 am - 4 pm to support 3rd and 1st shift production teams.
Key Responsibilities:
Utilize Mastercam and Solidworks to program G-code from prints and solid models Create CNC programs for single and multi-axis machining centers, with a focus on lathes & live tool turning Process new parts from selection of tools, speeds and feeds settings through programming and PPAP approval Design of jigs, tools, fixtures, and special equipment for CNC applications Witness CNC program to prove out on the machine; modify programs as required to produce a quality product Lead the process validation portion of the new program; prepare layout, PPAP and obtain customer approval Prepare inspection sheets and tool lists for production staff Training of operators/machinists on new programs Develop cost estimates / quotes for new parts based on process design, equipment selection vendor quotes, using Plex ERP system Design, develop and test and/or sources and cost-justify various tools, machinery and equipment for recommended manufacturing methods Evaluate manufacturing processes; apply knowledge of product design, fabrication, assembly, tooling, and materials; confer with equipment vendors; solicit feedback from operators
Key Responsibilities:
Process design and validation for new parts for repeat batch production work Quoting new parts to customers Layout, design and build tooling for secondary operations Technical support for ongoing production work Improve CNC manufacturing processes and methods for cost-reduction, quality improvement and efficiency as part of team effort Monitor and maintain the quality and efficiency of tooling processes for manufacturing from concept to validation Collaborate on recommendations for new equipment and technology to meet customer needs and departmental requirements Skills, Qualifications & Experience 1.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Trade school or commercial machining and/or programming certificates Minimum 8 years hands-on CNC machining experience Mechanically inclined with ability to program & set up CNC lathes and/or mills (G-code) Working knowledge of CNC machines, machining processes, speed, part quality, costs and tooling requirements Minimum 3 years CNC programming experience in Mastercam (or similar); experience working with solid models; experience in editing and programming using G-code. Ability to read engineering drawings and interpreting GD&T 2.
Preferred Education and Experience:
Familiarity with
ISO 9001, IATF
16949 and/or AS 9100 quality protocols Cutting tool certification or equivalent experience Experience with design of new equipment, processes, procedures and systems Business-oriented with ability to estimate/quote, develop relationships with customers and vendors Experience in programming 5-axis mills, multi-axis mill-turn is a plus

Compensation is salaried, payable semi-monthly. Annual bonus based on company and individual performance. 2.
