Job Overview We are seeking a highly skilled CNC Lathe Programmer to join our dynamic team. In this energetic role, you will be responsible for developing, testing, and optimizing CNC lathe programs that ensure precision machining of complex parts. Your expertise will drive efficiency, uphold quality standards, and support our continuous improvement initiatives. Duties Develop and write CNC programs for lathe machines using Mastercam, ensuring accurate and efficient machining processes. Interpret detailed blueprints, schematics, and GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing) specifications to produce precise components. Utilize CAD software such as AutoCAD and SolidWorks to assist in designing tooling and fixtures for machining operations. Set up, calibrate, and operate CNC lathes and milling machines, ensuring optimal performance with proper tooling and fixtures. Implement lean manufacturing principles to streamline workflows, reduce waste, and improve productivity. Conduct precision measurements using bore gauges, calipers, micrometers, coordinate measuring machines (CMM), and other precision instruments to verify part tolerances. Collaborate with engineering teams on CAM programming with CATIA or other software to optimize machining strategies. Experience Proven experience programming CNC lathes with Fanuc controls in a manufacturing environment. Strong knowledge of CNC programming languages and G-code editing. Familiarity with CAD/CAM software such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, and CATIA for designing parts and tooling. Experience working with CNC milling machines and electrical discharge machining (EDM) processes is a plus. Solid understanding of blueprint reading, schematics, GD&T principles, and mechanical drawings. Knowledge of tooling selection, geometry calculations, and the use of precision measuring instruments like bore gauges, micrometers, calipers, and coordinate measuring machines (CMM). Ability to apply lean manufacturing concepts to improve machining processes and reduce cycle times.
