Job Description

Position Overview:
A CNC programmer programs machinery that automatically mills, punches, and drills metal parts for the aerospace industry. Works with engineering to achieve the most repeatable and robust processes achievable. Performs adjustments to adhere to established specifications or to correct faulty programming. Makes general decisions as to quality, tolerances, and operation sequence. Essential Job Functions Write and optimize CNC programs to create complex parts on 3, 4, and 5 axis machining centers Develop work-holding and select cutting tools Create and compile necessary documents to aid setting up machines Support engineering, shop floor, and inspection employees during all aspects of the manufacturing process Write and distribute a daily summary of the projects worked on during each shift. This will include any action item or special instruction for the other shifts Requirements Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or four to ten years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general periodical, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations. Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables. Ability to lift a minimum of 25 pounds. Unigraphics / NX experience preferred.
