CNC G-code Programming Full Job Description Overview:
Summary:
Responsible for working closely with manufacturing planner and CNC shop personnel to produce reliable CNC processes to meet customer requirements by performing the following duties.
Responsibilities:
Duties and Responsibilities Serves as lead CNC technical advisor for entire CNC programming group. Provides very efficient programming template for fellow programmers on critical programming projects. Designs and creates NC programs for large extrusion products. Designs and creates NC programs for large block HOGOUT products. Designs and creates NC programs for forging and/or casting products. Designs and creates NC programs for forging and/or casting related tooling. Designs and creates NC programs for assembly related tooling. Designs and creates NC programs for 3-axis, 4-axis, and 5-axis milling customer products. Displays expertise in 4-axis horizontal mill machining programming with great efficiency. Displays expertise in 5-axis mill machining programming with great efficiency. Plans details of CNC related operation. Provides accurate setup documentation. Validates NC programs prior to production use by using verification software. Approves and places NC programs, setup information on machine server for shop use. Performs troubleshooting on CNC programming related problems. Participates in troubleshooting on production related problems. Upkeeps and/or maintains master files of programming. Optimizes feed rate and spindle RPM to for cost affectivity. Integrates improved and/or new cutting tool technology. Participates in the improvement process by utilizing lean manufacturing method. Proposes feasible solutions for future overall process improvements.

Education/Experience:
Must have a minimum of eight years of full-time aerospace CAD/CAM programming experience, a very strong aerospace precision metal working background, and be capable of supporting a very fast-pace programming schedule with great NC programming accuracy and efficiency.
Equipment:
Eye and hearing protection may be necessary while working on the shop floor.
Knowledge, Skills and Other Abilities:
Must be able to read customer provided drawing Knowledgeable in G-code Operating portable measuring equipment Thorough understanding of machining processes
