Job Description

Our client a manufacturing company with a plant in Amesbury, MA is looking for a CNC Programmer/Operator with a few years of relevant experience for a M-F 7am-3:30pm direct hire position. There could be OT potential in this role as well. This company typically moves very quickly through the interview process. The CNC Programmer/Operator is responsible for setting up, programming, and operating CNC equipment to produce precision components that meet strict quality standards. This role also supports process improvements and provides guidance to junior machinists.
Key Responsibilities:
Set up and operate CNC mills, lathes, and multi-axis machines Create, edit, and optimize CNC programs (G-code/CAM) Read and interpret blueprints, CAD drawings, and specifications Select tooling, fixtures, feeds, and speeds Perform inspections to ensure dimensional accuracy Use precision measuring tools (micrometers, gauges, CMM) Troubleshoot machining and programming issues Support process improvements to enhance quality and efficiency Collaborate with engineering and production teams Maintain production records and documentation Qualifications High school diploma or GED required; technical training preferred 5+ years of CNC machining/programming experience Strong blueprint reading and GD&T knowledge Experience with tight tolerances and precision parts Solid problem-solving skills and ability to work independently Preferred Experience in high-precision manufacturing environments Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles Familiarity with CAM software (Mastercam) Experience with process improvement initiatives Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 50 lbs Hands-on use of precision tools Industrial environment with noise and moving equipment Overtime or flexible scheduling may be required If you are a motivated CNC Programming professional eager to advance your career in precision manufacturing through innovative machining techniques and collaborative teamwork, we encourage you to apply today.
