Assistant Director of Operations Position Summary Instrument Technology, Inc. is seeking an experienced CNC Programmer & Manufacturing Engineer to support precision machining operations and manufacturing process development. This role is responsible for CNC programming, fixture design, process optimization, and manufacturing support to drive quality, efficiency, and cost control. This is a hands-on position ideal for a strong programmer who also enjoys improving processes and solving manufacturing challenges. Key Responsibilities CNC Programming & Machining Program CNC mills and lathes using Mastercam (or equivalent CAM software) Set up and operate CNC machining centers as needed Optimize programs for cycle time, tool life, and quality Select appropriate tooling, speeds, and feeds Perform first-piece and in-process inspections Troubleshoot machining and tooling issues Maintain setup sheets and process documentation Manufacturing Engineering & Process Development Develop and document standardized manufacturing processes Support new product introduction and pilot builds Drive continuous improvement initiatives Assist with operator training and process transfers Support ISO-regulated documentation and quality compliance Fixture & Tooling Design Design and build machining and assembly fixtures Improve existing fixtures to reduce setup time and variation Create internal fixture drawings and documentation Quoting & Cost Analysis Support Review drawings for manufacturability Determine routing steps and machining processes Estimate setup and cycle times Identify material and tooling requirements Provide feedback to Engineering to improve manufacturability Qualifications 5+ years of CNC machining experience 3+ years of CNC programming experience Proficient in Mastercam (or similar CAM software) Strong blueprint reading skills and solid understanding of GD&T Experience with fixture design and work-holding solutions Strong shop math and machining calculation skills Experience in process improvement and manufacturing efficiency Technical degree preferred (or equivalent hands-on experience) Experience in
ISO/GMP/FDA
