software CNC G-code Programming Equipment adjustment (production tasks) Full Job Description CNC Programmer / Machinist•R D Department We are seeking an experienced CNC Programmer / Machinist to join our growing R D department. This position will work closely with our design team to develop new parts and manufacturing processes from concept through finished production-ready components. This is a hands-on role for a highly skilled programmer who enjoys problem solving, process development, and working on challenging prototype and production projects. Our new R D area includes dedicated 5-axis machining and CNC lathe equipment with live tooling.
Responsibilities:
Program, setup, and machine prototype and production parts from engineering and design models Work directly with the design team to develop manufacturable solutions Take projects from initial concept through completed finished parts Create and optimize CNC programs using Mastercam Program and operate: 3-Axis, 4-Axis, and 5-Axis CNC machines Horizontal machining centers CNC lathes with live tooling Design and develop fixtures and workholding solutions Prove out new jobs and optimize machining processes Assist with production programming and process improvements when R D workload allows Support production departments with tooling, fixtures, and machining strategy improvements Maintain high quality and tight tolerance standards
Requirements:
Strong CNC programming experience using Mastercam Experience with multi-axis machining and complex setups Experience with 5-axis machining and live tooling lathes required Strong understanding of tooling, feeds, speeds, and machining strategies Ability to independently setup and prove out new jobs Fixture design and process development experience preferred Ability to read blueprints, CAD models, and GD&T Self-motivated with strong problem-solving skills Team-oriented mindset with willingness to support production as needed
Preferred Experience:
Prototype and R D machining High-mix / low-volume manufacturing Tight tolerance machining Process improvement and workflow optimization
Compensation:
Competitive pay based on experience and capability.
Typical range:
$40•55/hr Higher compensation available for highly experienced multi-axis programmers Overtime available. Modern equipment. Long-term opportunity with room for growth.
Pay:
$35.00•$50.00 per hour
