Work Arrangement:
Onsite MPG delivers radio frequency (RF) spectrum-centric solutions at the speed of technology. We enable mission-critical communications and space-based missions with ruggedized RF components, subsystems, and turn-key solutions. Civilian government, military and commercial customers rely on MPG's deep engineering expertise, and scalable manufacturing capability to deliver what they need, when they need it. MPG operates engineering and manufacturing facilities in: Austin, TX; Columbia, MD; Ventura, CA; West Chester, OH; Salisbury, MD; Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic; and York, United Kingdom.
POSITION OVERVIEW
: Creates, corrects, modifies, rewrites and verifies existing CNC machining programs. Defines manufacturing operational details including machines to be used, work to be performed, tools to be used, feeds and speeds, and cycle time. Supports and provides assistance as required to operators for various projects. Participates on productivity/corrective action teams to review product design with respective departments to optimize efficiency and cost effectiveness manufacturing methods. Utilizes the programming software to simulate tools on machines and tests parts. Establishes and maintains product data electronically creating work instructions and sketches required to fabricate parts. Conducts periodic review of existing tooling working with the Production Supervisor on replacement tooling planning. Specific duties included but not limited to: Figure machine offset positions - through the use of Edge Finders/Mathematical equation Understands, interprets and edits FANUC G-code programming Analyzes the job orders, drawings and blueprints Proves program through 1st piece approval Uphold all ISO/AS and OSHA standards applicable to the responsibilities
QUALIFICATIONS SUMMARY
CNC programmers can gain skills through vocational schools, technical colleges or community college programs, or apprenticeships. Typically, it takes 4-5 years of combined education and on-the-job training to become fully trained. To excel, programmers need many years of experience and must show aptitude for math, problem-solving and computer skills.
Math Skills:
Good math skills will help to understand complex instructions, how schematics work and make sure items are designed and built correctly. Attention to
Detail:
CNC programmers will work with precision equipment. Being off by millimeters could be a critical error. Keen attention to detail is required.
Mastercam:
intermediate to advanced knowledge expected. Ability to read, comprehend and interpret bar graphs and instructions. Demonstrated ability to

$30.00 - $33.00 per hour
Bonus Eligible:
This position is eligible to earn a discretionary bonus based on performance metrics and other criteria outlined in our applicable bonus plan.
