Job Description

Overview Join our dynamic manufacturing team as a CNC Lathe Programmer/Operator and become a vital part of producing precision-engineered components. In this role, you will leverage your expertise in CNC (Computer Numerical Control) machining to program, set up, and operate CNC lathes, ensuring high-quality production that meets strict specifications. Your mechanical knowledge and attention to detail will drive efficiency and excellence in our manufacturing processes. This is an exciting opportunity for motivated individuals passionate about machining, tooling, and precision measurement to thrive in a fast-paced environment that values innovation and craftsmanship. Responsibilities Develop and write CNC programs using CAM (Computer-Aided Manufacturing) software, such as CAD (Computer-Aided Design) tools like SolidWorks or CATIA, to produce complex parts on CNC lathes. Set up CNC lathe machines, including installing tooling, calibrating equipment, and verifying machine parameters according to blueprints and schematics. Operate CNC lathes with precision, monitoring machining processes to ensure adherence to dimensions using geometric tolerances (GD&T) and precision measuring instruments like bore gauges, micrometers, calipers, and coordinate measuring machines (CMM). Interpret detailed blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to determine machining sequences, tooling requirements, and inspection criteria. Perform routine maintenance on CNC machinery and troubleshoot issues related to electrical discharge machining (EDM), tooling wear, or mechanical faults. Conduct quality inspections throughout the manufacturing process utilizing tools such as bore gauges, micrometers, calipers, and laser measurement devices to ensure parts meet specifications. Collaborate with team members on lean manufacturing initiatives to optimize workflow, reduce waste, and improve overall efficiency. Experience Proven experience programming and operating CNC lathe machines in a manufacturing environment. Strong knowledge of CNC programming languages such as Fanuc or similar control systems. The CNC Lathe Programmer/Operator should have familiarity with CAD/CAM software including Mastercam, or SolidWorks for designing parts and generating machine code. Skilled in reading blueprints with GD&T specifications. Hands-on experience with precision measuring instruments like micrometers, bore gauges, calipers, dial indicators, and coordinate measuring machines (CMM). Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles to streamline processes and enhance productivity. The CNC Programmer/Operator should have mechanical aptitude with an understanding of tooling setups, geometry calculations for machining operations, and schematic interpretation. Join us in shaping the future of manufacturing by bringing your technical expertise and passion for precision machining!
