In this role, you will be responsible for programming, setting up, and operating CNC machines to produce high-precision components. Your expertise in CAD/CAM software, machining processes, and measurement tools will ensure that production runs smoothly, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to advanced manufacturing projects in a fast-paced environment dedicated to excellence and continuous improvement. Duties Develop and optimize CNC programs using CAD (Computer-Aided Design) and CAM (Computer-Aided Manufacturing) software such as SolidWorks, CATIA, or AutoCAD to create precise machining instructions for CNC milling machines and CNC lathes. Set up CNC machines by installing tooling, calibrating equipment, and ensuring all safety protocols are followed before production begins. Operate CNC machinery with proficiency in Fanuc controls, monitoring machine performance throughout the manufacturing process to maintain accuracy and efficiency. Interpret complex blueprints, schematics, GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing), and schematics to ensure parts meet strict specifications. Conduct precision measurements using bore gauges, calipers, micrometers, coordinate measuring machines (CMM), and other precision instruments to verify part dimensions and quality. Perform routine maintenance on CNC equipment and troubleshoot mechanical or electrical issues related to machining processes such as electrical discharge machining (EDM). Collaborate with engineering teams on tooling selection, fixture design, and process improvements aligned with lean manufacturing principles to reduce waste and increase productivity. Skills Extensive knowledge of CNC programming languages including G-code and M-code for both milling machines and lathes. Proficiency with CAD/CAM software such as SolidWorks, Auto
CAD, CATIA
for designing parts and creating manufacturing programs. Strong understanding of blueprint reading, schematics, GD&T standards, and geometric tolerances to ensure precise fabrication. Mechanical aptitude with familiarity in tooling setup, machining operations, and the use of precision measuring instruments like bore gauges, calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, and coordinate measuring machines (CMM). Experience working with Fanuc controls or similar CNC control systems. Knowledge of lean manufacturing techniques to streamline processes and eliminate waste. Ability to interpret schematics related to electrical discharge machining (EDM) and mechanical drawings for complex parts. Excellent math skills for calculating dimensions, tolerances, feed rates, speeds, and other machining parameters. Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot machine issues quickly while maintaining safety standards. Mechanical knowledge of tooling selection, fixture design, geometry considerations for precision machining tasks.
